Problem:
Every two months, these fans had to be replaced or hard face welded. Minimum cost was $1200(USD) plus 12-16 man hours of down time.
Solution: Following appropriate surface preparation, ARC 890 and ARC 855 were applied to new fan. Cost of repair was US $450.
Results: After 4 months in service, no apparent wear occurred.
Savings: Customer estimates an annual return on investment of $16,000 (USD) per fan blade.
